Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT)

What Is CPT?

Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) is an evidence-based treatment that utilizes a structured set of tools to “think about our thinking.”

The basic premise of CPT is that our thinking becomes distorted after distressing events, making it more difficult to view current and future situations through neutral lenses.

Who Does CPT Work For?

This evidence-based treatment is very effective for reducing symptoms of PTSD and learning to view past distressing memories in a less distressing way.
